Kate thought that her friend was up to something, but she wasn't sure what. Why did she want The Thinker? He was a little boring, and Gina probably would get frustrated with him like Will did. "What are you going to do with The Thinker, Gina," asked Kate.
Gina said, "Well, I know you won't believe it, but I did some research."
She handed Kate a library book. It was a big, thick book all about famous art. There were a lot of photographs. Kate leafed through it. "Were you researching our artwork?"
"Yes. I knew you wouldn't believe it," said Gina. "I figure, the more I learn the better we can communicate with our new friends."
She turned to The Thinker. "You're a poet, aren't you?" she said.
"Yes, how did you know?" The Thinker looked at her, impressed that she knew something about him.
"The sculpture is also known as The Poet," Gina told Kate.
She turned to The Thinker. "You like rhyming poems," she said.
"Yes, how did you know?" said the Thinker.
"I just do," she said, smugly.
Kate knew what Gina was thinking. Gina loved limericks. It would be no surprise if she had him liking limericks too at the end of the day. She shook her head at the two of them. Gina already had The Thinker laughing.
It was funny. The art project had not been a serious one for Kate but Gina didn't seem to care about it. Now, it was no longer just a classroom project. It was life. And Gina was trying to make it fun.
Maybe The Thinker wasn't so boring after all, thought Kate.
